Default Help with EF suspension

HI HT ppl,
So i recently bought a 89 si hb and got some full coilovers for it. The shocks are good and nothing is blown i got some e-motor usa ones which are like k-sports replicas. Anyways they are made for a EG/DC and i got some EG forks and the fit fine, my problem is the ride is really bad when i hit bumps it feels and sound like the car is bottoming out. I dont think this is normal please help thanks in advance.

prolly the coils are really soft. does your wheel well rub against your tires on the back? cause if it does get different wheels with a positive offset if you really have to. or since you have coilovers adjust them..lol

Thanks for the reply, mayb the springs are soft and the wheel doesnt rub in the rear, my car isnt even slammed there is still 1.5in finger gap, ima put the stock suspension bak on and see if it makes a difference because i just finish putting my car back togehter after a clutch/flywheel job, and i changed all the front suspension ball joints, and axles, and tie rods.. update i just got a alignment and its still the same.

well if its good with the stock suspension, just cut the springs. it'll be alittle soft but your probably like it better then coilovers. good luck

you shouldn't be cutting springs, that just gonna ruined the ride. check the control arms for clearance, you might hitting the frame of the car. i had this problem before.

why not just use the proper suspension and "forks" that were made for your car?

the forks arent the problem. but im not clear on whats bottoming out.

need more description than "ride is really bad". could be a lot of things.

what have you done to diagnose the problem?

It might just be a really stiff ride, there was another thread where someone asked for opinion on the E-motor coilovers and iirc the spring rates were pretty high.

not sure how these are designed but i will look into it. my coilovers on my other car. while isntalled on the car. i raised the spring perch so that it pinned the springs to the shock tower and height adjustments where made on the body of the coilover. then just adjust dampening force to the softest setting for comfort. hope this helps i might go take a pic of mine.
