ZC Motor is going in!! Need quick tips!!
I pulled the engine by myself today (doing the swap alone) It was pretty easy with the engine hoist. swapped all my vacuum and water hoses. Put on clutch and Si Tranny. Now Im all ready to get this sucker back in there.
WAIT... im having a helluva time getting this ZC back in the bay. Where did you guys mount the chains on the ZC to hoist it back in (im using a 14mm bolt on the block next to the Exh Cam gear and one of the starter bolts.. the ZC balances a bit different on the chain than the D16) Any better suggestions?
Does the ZC have to go in crooked? as in Tranny mount first then kinda drop in the driver side? Tip would be nice. I wanna be up and running tommorow at noon
Thank you!
BDR.

whats up db?yes drop the motor fully left side down or tranny side down.put a floor jack under it and then let the right side down.bolt the right side mount in.then the rear mount then the front.i did it myself also a few times.really quite a few.
yeah, 4g is right. basically what i do is go below the passenger's side tranny mount to get the driver's side mount in. then use a jack to swing the passenger's side back into the mount. then do the rear mount, then the front.
4g vtec has a good point
in the few times i have drop an engine on my engine bay i did the rear mount and the left one first, then the drivers one and the las ont its the front........
u may wanna hood one bolt of the left side first, a bolt from the rear and then the drivers one..... the rear one i never removed from the car,,,, so maybe u did... depends who good u having the engine tilted in...... i did it once alone and he rest with a buddy helping me.. i tell u to get a friend, will be easier .......
