Drivers door is stuck. Anyone have Honda Bulletin for repair?
See previous note below:
So, yesterday I installed a new door latch assembly in my drivers door. Pulling the door panel open with the door closed was not fun. After several hours and a few Band-Aids, the repair was completed. I purchased the part from my local Honda dealer for wholsale price, $162.50 plus tax (List = $217.00). BTW, my local Honda dealer told me that the repair could cost up to $800.00!! If any of you guys need advise with this repair, let me know.

Just today, my driver door will not open from the inside or the outside.
From what I understand there is a Honda bulletin on how to drill the latch to get the door open and replace the latch with a new one. Does anyone have it and if so let me know? I've only seen this repair done once and can't remember where to drill. I know that this is not an easy repair either. If any of you have any short cuts or know how to do it easily, and advise would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Cool, thanks. If it is eaiser to e-mail it, here's my e-mail, dhotwwin@aol.com
As I said, I"ve seen it done once and I dread having to do it. I just don't want to have to break the door panel getting it off. Hard to do with the door closed. If I remember right, the first step is to remove the drivers seat (for working room). I'll let you know how it goes. Updates later.

i can get you a copy tommorrow, i work at a dealer. not an easy fix to do,
), I can get anything open with that (and a few of these
). More updates when the part gets in. BTW $217.00!!! for the latch assembly and Vaseline did not come with it!!
can't you pay some guy (or do it yourself) to slim-jim the door? That way you can remove the door panel and then remove all the offending crap?? Is the actual open/close bracket destroyed???
Or if a 4dr, can't you open the rear door and try to pop the hinge with a thin, strong piece of metal (like a dental pick)? I had a problem like this in my old Jetta 16v; i was able to open the door by openning the rear door and popping the hinge....
