If i build it would you buy it? crv header
I have a 97crv and im going to build one for myself. Im just throwing this out there. In about 6 months, after my wedding. I am going to open up a fab shop here in northern Ky. Until then im going to build some stuff in my garage for local people. This is a if but, if i was to build a tri y header for the 4wd crv how many people would be interested in buying one? I will do them in stainless or mild steel.
I will have one put on a car that is going on a dyno here at a local shop before i sell them and post up a vid or dyno print out what ever works for you. I just dont want to waste my money on material and my time if im going to just sit on them.

ill be interested to..
but your price should be competetive, coz theres one around
for cheap and it does the job too!
good luck!!
keep us updated....
if ever your fab shop would work, i need a rear cross bar for our Vs...

LOL!
since you have a crv you could make it as a model..
i already have a C/D pillar bar but a cross bar would be a great
help since im gona try to autoX/rallyX or circuit-time attack my V
this summer.. im already done with the suspensions and other stiffening
bars..its only the X bar thats missing to literally minimize if not elliminate
the roll from our Vs...
pm me your email address ill show you the points where we could install
the cross bar links....
its for our crv,

The problem with most of the ones for sale now for the civics are that they do a genaric bolt on with adjustable heim joints at the mounting points which is pretty much defeating the purpose. I will do one completey welded but that will bolt in. Give me some time to get the material togeather and to get the brackets cut and i will make one and post pics.
my question was do you have a material preference? dom tube? stainless? do you want the true cross bar? I have built one of these for my old civic.

as most Xbar for civics, they do have similar structure and most of them have
that adjustable end links similar to a generic strut bar.... as what i understand
with those adjustable design, it looks weak if you see it in every points but once
its already bolted and tightened, they work now as a whole, same design as those
steel bridges, lots of joints and looks weak individually but if all bolted together
they work fine and sturdy..this is what i just understand.... feel free to correct me..
thanks for the looking into this upgrade/bolt on!
btw, were already off topic...... sorry mods!

Even if you dont have a big audience in the crv crowd you could easily sell them to anyone who has a b series motor. I would have loved a nice header for my b20vtec in my integra
the point is that they are diff for the crv. since they are 4wd they have a diff case that sticks out so the header has to have an offset on the last ft or so. thats why he was asking
Obx makes them. I just modified a short 94 rsr Gsr header. I cut off the flange and welded on a section at an angle to relocate the flange in the proper place
heres to give you an idea of how a 4wd crv looks like under w/ a 4wd
headers installed.. i dont have time to look for any B series civic/teggy
headers installed but theres a lot of pics on the net.....

had trouble getting 2 bolts in, switched to studs, still had trouble but got it on, tight fit, i forgot about torque sequence, warped the flange, leaked nasty, took it off, back to stock.
oh and my obx 4wd header didnt come with the donut gasket either and the bolts are low 4 grade they stripped after putting them on 2 or 3 times. also the flange gasket they supply to the head didnt match up to the ports on the header flange. the welds were very well done and they hand finished on the inside for proper flow
