Default D16z6: Pump Gas Dyno Tune

This car belongs to Jinx. He brought us his Civic for a dyno tune. This car is an SCCA Solo car, runs in the Street Prep class, and has won numerous national championships. He recently upgraded from a D15b7 to a D16z6, and added a few bolt on parts.

Here is the setup:
Stock D16z6
Hytech Header
Edlebrock Intake Manifold
Lightweight Flywheel w/ OEM Clutch

For comparison, a stock D16z6 usually lays down around 105 to 110 on our dyno.

2.5" pipe that extends to behind the drivers seat and bends down to the ground.

For the record, this particular setup was predominately tuned with the fan off and sometimes on the low setting in order replicate heatsoak conditions that the car would experience at the track. For example, intake air temps were on average between 100-115 degrees. We usually don't tune with the fan off but for this vehicles application, it was the logical approach. We suggested a hondata heatshield gasket and he said he had one but leaked so he took it off. We then suggested Hondabond the Hondata gasket. That should help considerably with heatsoak.

To the OP what are you looking for out of this post?
As an owner of a D16Z6 with very basic bolt-ons, I'm going to say you're low on power. Considering the money spent and the parts on the car.

D16z6 243,000 miles
Greddy Header
Test Pipe
Stock Exhaust
K&N filter in the Stock Air box
Grounding Wires
121whp/102tq dynojet SAE
P28 Hondata S300

We simply post Honda setups on HT to share.
IAT @ 110-115 is roughly 3-5whp. Sure we could of set the fan on and on high to reduce heatsoak but we were not shooting for number here. Simply an efficient and reliable tune to match the customers application.
