98 crv weird noise started
98 crv, 5spd, awd, everything was in good working order, no noises or anything until the other day.
It started making a whirring noise, sounds like its coming from something that spins (with the fan shutoff so its not that). When sitting in the driver's seat its definitely coming from the front of the car and to the right of the driver's seat.
The noise doesn't happen at idle, its remains the same when accelerating or driving at a constant speed. Turning left or right or driving straight doesn't make a difference. The noise goes away when slowing to stop after the brakes are fully applied even if the car is still rolling to a stop. The noise is still there while the car is moving regardless of whether the clutch pedal is in or out.
Any ideas where i should start looking? could it be a wheel bearing or more likely the shaft that goes back to the rear wheels?

if it was the ISB would it not still make the noise while the car is running and in neutral?
i'll double check but i was pretty sure i checked at idle with the clutch pedal depressed and foot off the clutch pedal and no noise while the car wasn't in motion.
