1991 crx questions!?
new to this forum. i bought a 91 crx with a jdm b16a in it and want to put my turbo setup in it, huge fmi, holset he351 turbo out of a ram 2500 diesel. i just was wondering who makes a half rad that fits the car. my buddy had a hard time finding one and never could. i dont know what the guy did to this one but i cant get any revs over 7000rpm and i know it should get 8200rmp. maybe used the factory computer for the car? what do i need to wire in the right computer for a jdm b16a? also, what is the best computer to run with a big turbo set up and nitrous? hondata s300? aem? greddy? what would be a good set of cams to run in it too?
You need to def start researching before you do anything and get the car running properly.
First of all you need to figure out which ECU you are currently running. Look on the side and find out what it is. If you are running obd0 it will be a pw0 or pr3 for the correct ECU for a stock b16.
You will more than likely want to convert to obd1.
Radiator, you can use a stock EG 1/2 radiator, I would also suggest getting a traction bar of sorts to make the install of the radiator much easier.
Talk to a tuner and find out which EMS would be best for your setup.

well i went threw the vacuum lines and found out some were going to the wrong places. there's on vac line coming off my fire wall that goes into a canister with 3 outlets on it. the one out of the fire wall for my a/c that i dont have? also when threw the 4 wires that had to be added to the factory harness for the b16a and found the knock sensor one was just hanging there but still no vtec and cant rev passed 7000rmp? the number on my computer is
37820-PR3-901
411-113966AB
it has the main circuit board on the bottom then a smaller one on top of it with AT in the corner of it. could this be for an automatic car and why i dont rev passed 7000rpm?
going to redo all the added wires to the computer tomorrow. dont like how they used phone cord for wire... if anyone can figure this out, it would be great!

well i found out the 901 means auto. so that would be why i dont have vtec and revs past 7000rpm? anyone have a computer for a manual jdm b16a in edmonton that they will trade for mine or sell to me?
That ecu will only work in an OBD1 car. If your car is OBD0 you will need the ODB0-OBD1 wiring harness conversion. In order to use the P28 ECU that you have. Plus you will need to reprogram the ECU chip for it to work properly with your B16A swap.

i got big problems. im running a b16a obd0 pr3 automatic computer and have a manual tranny. it looks like they wired the motor up right, but i got no vtec and i cut out a 7k rpm. i have no idea whats to do and need help! please anyone
Are you throwing any check engine lights other than Automatic Lockup Solenoid? This code will be thrown as you have a manual transmission with an automatic ECU.
It does sound like it is in limp mode however as the rev limit is set to 7k. Check for other codes in your ECU first and let us know.
As an FYI any codes that deal with fuel or air will cause VTEC not to work properly. Such as MAP sensor, o2, etc. This is a nice safety feature.
