Default engine rebuild question

I'm going to be rebuilding a d16y8 to put in my 91 hatchback. When I go to the parts store or look online I'm asked if I want standard size parts or oversized. Which would be best? For your info, this engine will have a turbo on it when I'm done. I won't be pushing that much boost, that's why I'm just doing a stock rebuild. I just don't know if I should get standard or oversized parts. Thank you in advance.

Well depending on your engine and I cant see it so....?

I say go .25 overbore with the matching pistons and a new set of rings, Since it is your first do you want to do it yourself?

No, I don't plan on rebuilding myself. I'm going to have someone do it for me. Another question, if I get oversized parts do I have to do anything to the engine or will oversized parts fit right in the engine?

youll have to have the block bored to fit oversized pistons. You ought to have your builder disassemble and inspect before buying anything. this is not a "one size fits all" kind of project, engine building is quite precise and careful measurement is required.

Whoever is going to rebuild your block should be able to tell you whether it needs to be bored over (increasing diameter of cylinder in case there is taper or out of round cylinder beyond service limits), or do regular honing. iskate2 is right there is a lot to measure, and there is going to be a lot of second guessing if this is your first.
