Default pr4 vtec......(obdo)

ok guys.i'm back on this subject again.Has anyone heard, ran, or know anything about running a pr4 ecu with vtec?? i asked around and all i get is that it isnt possible.i've done research and know it is possible but i dnt knw for sure if u can run it with the wires being hooked up like a normal pr3 instead of an rpm activated switch. When a ecu is chipped i knw its for timing and fuel maps but can the chip activate a pin on the ecu plug to do something it didnt do b4? I.E- the a8 pin? any information u guys or even gals .lol. have would be greatly appreciated! later..

you would need to get it chipped. and have it done the way the PS9 is used to run a vtec motor. but why not just buy a PR3 and do it right

I have the PR4 obd0 ECU that you'd need to do this, hit me up via PM, I'll sell it to ya for cheap!

if u plan on chipping it wouldn't in make sense to just obd1 it the jumper is easy and you now have unlimited possibility's

you kinda made my head hurt.

if you chip an obd0 PR4 why would you use a jumper? are you going to jump to another obd0 ecu? if you chip a pr4, then you just need to add the vtec solenoid wire to the a/c or p/s switch. but doing this will elimate either one if you have it already running in your car.

i have an easy solution for you. buy my PW0 its ready to go, no need for chipping.

Well the reason i ask is because when i was building the motor,i traded my dx axles, shift linkage etc for pistons, timing belt, and a bunch of stuff for the motor and the guy threw in a ecu thats says b16 vtec on the cover. He said it worked so i took it ofcourse.well few months ago i finally noticed it says pr4 on it.so i popped the cover off and it is a chipped pr4.So now 4 loong years later i have my motor complete and almost ready to fire.i miss my car so damn much and its killin me having a fresh motor in it.so it leads me to ask the question about that ecu.i have it.so y not just get it goin with it u knw?

i dont have a/c or p/s in my car.the only way i know how to make vtec work is the rpm activated switch if i cant hook it up like a normal vtec ecu.

i have an obd0 lsvtec with an obd0 LS ecu chipped no rev with an external vtec controller (my monster tach, bitch all you want). works for the last 6 years with no problem. no knock/oil pressure/2nd o2 blah blah blah.

my cousin has an obd0 ls ecu that has vtec chipped into it..with all the other knock/pressure sensor ****.

have you even tried that ecu yet?
