Default polishing valve cover

how long do you think it would take to polish my valve cover using the directions on http://www.jdmfan.com ? i have the high temp paint, but dont want to remove my valve cover in case i have to go somewhere. OR can i just paint the valve cover without polishing it, if i clean it really really well?

Mine took 2 hours the last time with me taking it off and reinstalling it but it was also my 8th one i've done. To do a really good job be prepared to spend a good part of a afternoon getting it smooth.

I'd say you're looking at an 8-12 hour job to do a really good polishing job... remember to remove ALL the casting dimples on the metal before you buff it to get that mirror shine... look at my website for some pictures...

Hope this helps,

I think polished valve covers are too high maintenence to keep them lookin good, I started doing mine and I dont think i will finish it. Im thinking of painting it a charcoal gray or gunmetalish color.

Once you get it polished you can just use window cleaner on it and it keeps the dust, dirt, and oil, off of it. No real need to polish it all the time after unless your real **** about it like me
