Default Possible to use 16" wheel on Si?

I remember my ITR had 15" and 16" wheels...my SHO had 16". Why does this little Si need these 17" wheels which I imagine are quite heavy?

I would love less rotating mass, a lighter wheel in general, and tires with wider track and smaller diameter (cheaper).

Anyone done this, seen someone do it, or know if it can be done?

as of 2010 all Civics except the Si and (i think) the DX/DX-VP have 16" wheels.

So no issues with brake clearance or anything like that for Si in specific?

that style wheel is tough because it already looks tiny. the center is SO small...that thick surround makes it look way smaller than it really is, esp. when you run a contrasting center.

it's sort-of like when women who have average length legs roll their pants up a bit...4" or so. suddenly they look like their legs lost 12" total.

oh, nah, no issues. it is very possible to run 16" snow tire wheel/tire packages using plain ol' 16x6.5 steel wheels on the 8th gen Si.

I really appreciate that, I am in a very lazy mood.

Yeah I wouldn't use something like that. I wanted to look into lightweight, wider wheels that I could pair w/some sticky tires in warmer months.

I have a soft spot for flat black Slipstreams, always wanted them for my ITR. Don't know if they'd look right on an Si though?

Too much $$

What else is there in the $1000 or less category for 16xwhatever lightweight black wheels?

How wide are the stock 17s?

How much are Slipstreams? Like $400 a set?

I don't know if I dig the RFP1s...

Kinda depends on the weight. Do you know how much RFP1s in 16 weigh?

Does anyone know how much the stock wheels weigh?

Stock rims weigh about 23 pounds sans tires.

I have no use for my stock wheels really. Too big and heavy.

They look nice...but I think I really want 16s for my winter and summer wheels!

Thanks much for those weights dude.

Wow, the Mugens...unreal!

Too bad I don't have $2k to devote to this little venture.

I really like the looks of the stock wheels, but they are too big and too heavy.

If the stockers were light enough I would just put summer rubber on them, and buy a set of Slips for the winter.

But now it looks like I might want two additional sets of wheels.

Does Falken still make Azenis for like $60-70 each?

Looks like you need to buy a new scale Max. Hope you haven't been relying on it for a diet.
