Hello everyone!
hey everyone! awesome site! i actually just bought my first ef today
Its a 1989 civic hatch dx auto with 94,000 original miles... car is pretty beat up but that will change! looking to do a d16z6 swap and eventually build it for boost to produce around 300whp.
for now i just want to swap the transmission to 5 speed first and foremost. that slush box is too damn boring! lol so knowing what i plan for... what transmission would be good to get so i dont have to swap again later? would the d16z6 transmission bolt up to the stock d15b2?
thanks

yes it would, but its hydraulically actuated, and the tranny mount is different. so you would have to get the appropriate mount, and a hydro to cable conversion kit in order to use it. the best, easiest, and cheapest thing would be to get a cable si transmission
just make sure if you get a si tranny you have the correct clutch. if you jump aroung from year to year the tranny wont bolt up. (just learned this the hard way this weekend)
Look through the faq this should help
