MPG dropped after timing belt replacement
Just like the title says, my MPGs dropped after I had Honda replace the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and tensioner spring. What would cause this?
double check your cam and igniton timing. agree with it sounding like one or both cams is off a tooth. if you don't install and tension the new belt according to procedure it's real easy to be off.
How much is it off by? It could just be the tension of the new timing belt is causing more friction, which equal less gas mileage. It should improve over time.
