Default Coolant leak in back of block. Leaks when it wants to.. help

I have a 92 Integra with a LS. Recently dropped the motor from a integra RS. We noticed it was slow leaking coolant. When the car warms up, it stops. Sometimes it doesnt even leak but it will sometimes. Its coming from the back of the block. Anyone had a slow leak coolant problem in that area?

Is it by chance coming from your waterpump area?

i had the same problem on my gs, it was from the one of the 3 inch hoses that go from the bottom of the intake manifold to the block "i think" next of the egr valve, check by the hose clamps on the little hoses i had a tiny bulge on it next to the clamp you can replace it with fuel line

im leaning towards idle air control hoses man, and if there are no leaks from that area move onto the heater hoses.

I keep looking and cant seem to find it. I think it might be a cut hose of some sort. it leaks once in a while. sometimes heavy sometimes light sometimes nothin.

I would just change all your coolant hoses behind under your IM. Also check to see if all your IM bolts are tight enough.

might be a hose that's cut on the bottom side, you would not be able to see it by looking at it from the top. if it was me,I'd take the IM off and change all the hoses so then if it leaks again you know its not the hoses but just my opinion.

you need to crank it and let it set stationary, so you can see where the drip is coming from on the ground.
As many have said it could be the 3/8 lines that run from the outlet on your IM to the FITV valve, from there a small hose runs to the IACV, from there it runs back to the pipe on the back of the block thats between your water pump and Thermostat.
also if your intake manifold gasket is bad it will leak coolant there as well. if it is from a hose it is just a loose connection- if the hose was cracked it would leak more as pressure builds and not stop when the car is warm.
Personally, my shot in the dark blind theory is that its your IM gasket.
I think this because when metal warms and begins to reach thermal equilibrium it expands, if there is a small leak at the IM, the expanding metal could close the gap tolerances, not allowing coolant to leak.
So, just for kicks, try tightening the bolts on the IM just a little, and try to take notice if that is where your leak is coming from.

I know where the leak is near at. When it does leak, it goesa down to the down pipe of the header and starts to smoke cuz its hot as hell. So i do know its coming from there. Its gotta be a hose or the IM gasket.

So today i jacked up the car while motor was running trying to see if i can get to the leak. However, the leak stopped (not leaking yet) after i bolted up the black box on back of the block. The bottom bolt slot was missing a bolt so i put one in. Usually something leaks and hits the downpipe and it starts to smoke cuz its hot. Now, i shut the block box bolted and it doesnt hit the downpipe nor does it smoke. So far so good. BUT The black box i heard is something to do with oil PCV. So it doesnt make sense cuz i got a coolant leak...

Also checked the hoses, all fine. None are ripped or unplugged..

I let it sit overnight and had something under it so i can see how much it leaked. it leaked a bit. I started the car, it leaked lil more so i can jacked it up and put stands on. The leak stopped. Now i cant find it. So its weird when i raise up the front, it stops. I dont see any leaks. all hoses seem to be fine. Manifold is tight. I cant find nothin behind the block. I went under the car numerous times...

I fixed the leak. But right after I fixed it, i put new oil and a filter in. Went to teh gas station, started to leak Oil. Coming from my camgears/timing. Cam gear seals, im guessing.

Id check the iav hose that runs to the block

Just let your car run and wiggle all the hoses if it may be a cut

man I was chasing a coolant leak in 2008 and just said F it and replaced every single coolant hose on the entire engine. I pulled the IM off which was a total PITA. I should have pulled the whole engine out.

Ya, thats what i did. I had the car running and wiggled most hoses. I replaced 1 that was wrong but was very soft.. And the leaking one was short and skinny from the IM to block. Then replaced the one right next to it, same size. No coolant leaks since.

However, I guess leaks love me, so I got a oil leak now. Never had one in this motor but i went from 1030 synthetic GTX to gtx high mileage 530 right after i fixed the coolant leak. I went to the gas station and it leaked oil.. Cam gear seals seem to be very oiled up. Around the belt, gears, etc.. I just dont know how to retime the gears, lol.

Interesting, I doubt it was the change in oil that caused it to leak. 10w30 and 5w30 are the same viscosity at operating temperature.

I've been running Mobil1 0w30 for about a year now (290K on engine) and after replacing my VTEC solenoid seals, I have zero oil leaks once again.
