Default Project second chance

Like the title says this is a second chance for a integra. I bought the car about a year ago and it was in rough shape to say the least. The owner of the car i bought it from neglected very bad, the door skin on the driver side door was fallling off, the interior smelled like something was roughting it smelled horrible and it was always rattleing, the car is auto and when it shifted it felt like the engine was trying to drive out from under the car. It needs a second chance to say the least. I was going to start on it the day i got it but i work in the oil field and a week after i got it the economy went to **** and i could no longer afford to put any money in it. now that everything is slowly getting better i can now. SLOWLY THOUGH.

Here is a couple of pics the seller of the car took.

I found what the smell was didnt take any pictures because it made me want to throw up but on the sun roof you two hose coming off the back of it one of them were unplugged and had been draining water on top of the head liner and was covered in mold.

Also found out what was rattleing in the back.

Im going to give it a second chance completely rebuild. New Interior, new paint and body, new suspension and new rebuilt engine, and most important a new MANUAL tranny.

Ive been haveing some problems with the interior, you see i love integras but i dont like how the interior is two tone black and grey. Ive been thing about going for more of a custom look and going all black. Not sure what im going to do though any advice from any one be helpful.

All the grey parts are hard plastic so they might paint OK. All that leaves is the headliner.

Good luck on the project and keep us updated.

Atleast the body looks to be in solid shape.

Yeah it was about a year ago. Yes to the conversion Auto sucks.

I got to do a little bit today before i got rained out. Welcome to west texas this morning it was cold blowing 30 or 40 mph bout noon it was nice and warm about 4:00 it starts raining. Welcome to west texas!

Anyways i decided to go get some duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint and try it out. I didnt think it would work but it turned out very good i was really surprised i got the dash a door seal and the 3/4 of the carpet done on 2 can. Im going to go get a bout 10 cans this next weekend and do the whole interior.

That dash came out really nice. But I could see the carpet getting hard and then the paint flaking off. But looking good so far

It's a little hard but I'm planing on finishing painting it, waiting a couple of days and then shampooing it and just repeat until it soft and still black.

unless you steam cleaned that carpet first, your gona have a difficult time getting the funk out of it if you dyed it without cleaning it. Dash looks great though, heres hoping that it doesnt come off, i doubt it will though because its dye not paint.

Nice progress. I like green Integra's but I always hated the tan interior. If only they came with black interiors.

I agree. I wish i knew why honda did any tan interiors. They are ugly as **** and they stain everytime you touch them.

Subscribed. I'm interested in how well this holds up. I'm looking at a green teg too with tan interior and right off the bat am thinking about having to keep an eye out for some black interior. If this holds up well might save me some money on the plastic parts.
