My 1991 accord ex coupe, MT5, 190,000 miles, started grinding when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. After driving for several minutes, grinding almost goes away, only a short chirp. Would changing fluid help, or is sync going bad, or any other idea. This is original transmission, never been opened, original fluid. Other gears shift fine. This is a daily driver.

 

if that is the original fluid you need to change that stat. then drive it for a few thousand miles and change it again.
