OK here it is..when he has less than half a tank of gas his car will turn off. It does it just when he is cruising, he has to pull over everytime, and eventually it starts again.. what could the problem be?
He bought the car used with MSD ignition..if that helps...

When I got my '89 Si, It ran fine until the engine warmed up... After that it would just cut off while I was driving down the street. It turned out that the problem was a bad relay (I think the part was about $30). I'm not sure if that's you're friend's problem or not, but it's a possibility.
