Default new cluster, problems with fuel gauge

i put a diffrent cluster in my civic(same year and make) and now my fuel gauge is all the way on full... and it worked fine before the diffrent cluster, also the light on the top(for the needles) doesnt work. i replaced the bulb but nothing. ive read that when swapping clusters sometimes you have to "set" the fuel needle by pulling it off and putting it on when you full the car up.. it seems to move up and down fine it just goes to full

i had this problem with my evo. i placed the gauge overlays on the cluster and must have pushed the needle all the way up. i simply applied a lil pressure down and heard a small click and the needle dropped to empty again. when the cluster was powered up it had a good reading. as far as the light deal it must not be getting power from the board on the back. good luck hope this helps
