Default Help before actually getting painted!!

Hey i have a 1991 CRX, its painted flat back heres one question.

1) Will it be fine to paint over flat back? Even if its a lighter color?

2) It does have some imperfections there is some small dents and little waves due to bondo, will this show if i get it painted? If so how could i avoid that? smooth it out with some more bondo?

Also which is the best color to hide imperfections?

Thank you!!!

1. Yes. Black is sometimes used as a base for color depth and candy effects so it can actually improve certain paint jobs if used correctly.

2. All imperfections will be visible. The only question is how close you have to look. The nicer and glossier the paint job, the better you can see the imperfections. Once you've applied and blocked body filler and finishing glaze, the next step in preparing the surface is primer-surfacer and wet sanding. The surface should be level by the time you spray the primer. If it isn't, the body work wasn't done properly.

The color you cover the body work with doesn't really matter. Uneven areas will show up in the reflection of the clear coat.
