94 ls swap to 2000 b20b
Hi, pretty new here. My name is Joel and I have a 94 ls integra.
Glad to have found this forum.
My ls engine died at 200,000 so after reading up a bit I decided to go with a b20b from hmotorsonline. Went with the higher compression and ended up with a 2000.
I am replacing:
engine - 2000 jdm b20b
intake/exhaust manifold gaskets - oem
timing belt/tensioner - gates component kit
water pump - gates kit
spark plugs/wires - ngk zfr5fgp plugs, ngk he82 wires
cap/rotor - oem
motor mounts - oem type-r
air filter - k&n DIY icebox
oil filter - wix
fuel filter - oem
hoses/belts - oem
clutch - exedy oem
axles - new cardone
Am I missing anything?
Got the ls 1.8 out and am now waiting on a few parts to show up. Going to have to take the head off to see what happened to the ls 1.8.

I read that all b20's came with 18100-P3F-A00 exhaust manifold.
This one on my b20b is 18100-PR4-Y00, my ls one is 18100-PR4-000.
After looking at both exhaust manifolds I am fairly sure they are the same part. I plan on leaving the b20b one on as of now.
I am also thinking about keeping the b20b low rise intake with the resonator box.

Waiting on a clutch kit and new motor mounts.
Got the LS wiring harness on with the LS distributor, LS alternator.
Kept the b20b exhaust manifold and intake.
I modified the injectors to accept the obd1 clips.
Swapped the throttle cable wheels.
My friend drilled and tapped the holes for the throttle cable mount.
I hope my parts show up this week.

This is my daily driver so I will probably leave the transmission alone unless it goes out.

I would like to make it vtec in the future.
May be a while though, I have been out of work for about 9 months...

I don't think it hits, I need to check in the morning to see if it rubbed any.
I just softly put the hood down then pushed it down to click it shut.
Did not feel or sound like it hit anything. I will update tomorrow.

I am loving this engine in the teg compared to the b18b.
The torque is great, you don't have to wind it up to make power.
I am however trying to figure out an idle issue.
Starts up fine and idles a little high like normal until warm.
Once warm it will idle fine at around 750 every now and then it will stumble down to 500 or lower acting like it will die but never does ( does die often when coming to a stop though ).
I know most often it is the IACV or the FITV.
I kept the b20b intake manifold and it only had an IACV.
The IACV on it is different than the one on my old b18b.
The difference is the 2 coolant hoses on the bottom.
The b18b had them... the b20b has no hoses at all.
I have taken the IACV off ( pretty clean to begin with ) and shot brake cleaner in there to fill it up. Drained it after 10 minutes and filled it up again. Drained it again after another 10 minutes and shook it out best I could, left it to dry with the holes facing the wind for another 20 minutes before putting back on.
No change, still dies out about 1/4 to 1/2 the time coming to a stop.
Seems it is more likely to die if I use clutch and shift to neutral and coast to stop than if I use engine braking while slowing down.
I am going to check my tps and map sensors tomorrow.
If anyone had any other ideas for me to check out please let me know.

Pretty sure my problem is the TPS ( i forgot to put on the coversheet )
But really, the voltage on it was .33 closed.
I adjusted it it to .45 closed and set it started car and it jumps down to around .33 and it still reads low after engine stopped and ignition to II.
Try again and set it to .50 closed and experienced the same thing.
Decide to put the tps from my b18b on... walk down to basement and find the tps must have gotten cracked when pulling engine out...
Pull the tps off the b18b anyway since the crack is small and I think it may give me a better a different result.
Put the tps on and calibrate it to .45 closed goes up to 4.38 open
Start car it drops to 3.7 or 3.8 jumping between.
Yet with this tps the voltage is still calibrated with the engine off and ignition to II.
So I am guessing both of these tps are bad, yet the one off the b18b atleast holds the calibration.
The idle will still drop but not as bad and it has yet to die coming to a stop.
Dieing coming to a stop was a regular thing with the other tps on.
I ordered a blox tps, hope it ships fast and solves the issue completely.

I called HMO and they asked for pictures.
I sent them pictures and have not heard from them yet.
I don't think my timing was off.
I used pins to hold the cams in place when changing the timing belt.
Made sure everything lined up correctly.
Set the timing with a timing light.

My car was stuck in my friends basement while he was on vacation.
Now that he is back I got to go take the engine out and take some pics.
Still waiting to hear from hmotorsonline.
