Default Racing in the snow???

Weather Underground is predicting 4 inches of snow this weekend at the Cal Club/San Diego Region's National/Double Regional this Saturday at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, CA.

Any tips for racing in snow? LOL.

Just bring wets. Unless they close the track down, you'll just be racing on a wet surface.

Now this is autocrossing in snow (yes that is me). Probably about 1-2' of snow in the middle of the course. Had my 1955/55x15" Nokian Hakkapelitta 2s on that day. Super fun, using ebrake to turn.

SCCA has no spec tire, so the sky is the limit. Think studded snow tires.....
Racing in the rain requires you to be in a higher gear, for the snow, it might be two gears higher than normal.
I might have to go check it out if Craig Young will be there for SoPac News........Good Luck
BTW- The motors run good in the cold. Ron Haase's old lap record was run in near snow conditions. If it stays dry, it will be fast.

Snow was only down to the 4400' level, so nowhere near Willow Springs. Hell, I said, HELL of alot of rain on Saturday. Cleared up today and was nice and sunny.

Pulled home a 2nd place yesterday, and would have had 2nd today, too, had there been 1/3 of a gallon more gas in my car. Literally cut out halfway between the apex and track out of turn 9 heading towards the checkered flag. I now know I need just over half a tank of gas to run Big Willow, rather than just under a tank of gas.

Best lap time for me for the weekend? 1:41.7. Not sure where this ranks with you H4 guys in Honda Challenge over at the other club, but it's a personal best for me, and I know there's a couple of turns I'm still losing time. Can't wait to run Willow again.
