First build..... going D16A1
has anyone here built an engine before? how complicated is it? any tips/tricks/common errors? I am about to start building my first build of a D16A1 engine for a 1989 Acura Integra LS.Anyone w/ experience?
Biggest problem for me was finding parts. Mostly cause I don't like aftermarket seals. Other than that and the low horsepower ratings it is a great motor.
TO OP:
Are you planning to build the A1?.
May I ask why are you going with the D16A1 route also?
I remember seeing a guy with a DC2 chassis and had a Boosted D16z6 doing low 13's on the track.
Anyways, good luck with the build and being different
PS:
And for people who's going to bash on a single cam on a DC2, Japan had a AWD D16 Integra
Japan has alot of single cam integras, including alot of DA's
Op: i've personally never built a D series, but Bisi showed us that ALOT of power be made from these motors, are you doing a performance build or just an oem rebuild? If its a performance build i would suggest hitting up Bisi's website for parts if you want big power
