Hello I have a 90 Honda Accord Coupe EX 2.2 auto with some damage to the front bumper. I need help with a technical question I had about switching the bumper. Okay my question is this is a (Front Bumper) the same on a 90 Coupe & 90-91 4 door sedan? I ask because I found a nice bumper on a 91 sedan and it looks the same (I think) as my 90 coupe bumper. So I am wondering if there is any differences between a bumper on a 90 coupe vs. the 91 4 door sedan front bumper. Please advise me as I am thinking of switching them. Also if anyone has a website or any book or directions on how to remove/change a front bumper I would appreciate that as well. I am sure there is a website with some tips out there on how to change the front bumper as people have done it before I just don’t know where to look. So if anyone on here could help with the 2 inquiries I have I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks very much.

The 90 and 91 coupe and sedan bumpers are the same, as are the 92 and 93 sedan and coupe bumpers. The only ones that are different are the wagon bumpers. And all of the bumpers will fit on your car, so that will open up your options if you like the 9293 bumpers more. As for taking the bumper off, check out HERE in the DIY section.

 

Hello there thanks for answering my questions to you. Here is another one for you I found a 92 accord bumper today it is obliviously different I know that. My question is can I install that one and will it work? What if anything would I have to change/modify for the 92 bumper to fit/work correctly please advise thanks.

The bumper itself will fit right on, no problem. For it to be done cleanly you should change the headlights, turn signals, and grill as well as the 9091 stuff is flatter than the 9293 stuff. As far as modifying anything goes there is nothing that needs to be done. And no problem on answering your questions.

Thanks for answering my questions. I think the only thing required to make it look correct would be to change the turn signals because they are down where the front bumper is. Everything else (headlights & grill) is above bumper so that does not need to be changed. Expect for looks that is. Well do you know of any good websites or manuals online that could show me how to remove the bumper with detailed instructions? Thanks for your help....

When I said turn signals, I meant the ones up by the headlights. And if you leave the 9091 lights and grill on they will sit about 1/4" or so behind the top of the bumper. As for the link, check out cb7tuner.com in the DIY section.

No problem, I've always called those bumper lights, and the ones in the fenders turn signals. Different terminology.
