ive gotten a stock p28 from a friend, and its not dumping as much gas, but is still not breaking the 25mpg mark. i should have some money by the weekend to get a new fuel pressure regulator, but is there anything else i should be looking for?

if it matters the car has stock exhaust, but has cams. spoke with a guy who has a b16b and my gas mileage is about 8mpg less than his in the city.

the o2 sensor you got did it come with plug or did you have to add that on.. if so make sure the connections are clean

are you throwing any CELs?

i had a b17 do something similar and it ended up being i had a crack in one of my vacuum lines around the tb. it wasnt enough to affect the idle but it made me run real rich for about a week till i caught it then cuz of it i needed to reset my MAP sensor cuz it was stuck in that rich loop. hope this helps any

yea the o2 i got was a bosch so i just extended the wires one by one bout 2 feet. the connections are as good as can be without soldering them.

i am throwing a cel, code 43 which is why i replaced o2 and fuel filter. i didnt think about the tb lines being loose/cracked. will check into that tonight. how would i reset my map sensor? is it the same as resetting the ecu?

oo and were u getting 2 codes cuz the o2 sensor is 41 ... ur 43 is just fuel supply.

check ur map, vac lines, ign coil maybe. you know ur fuel pump is working so start checking things that electrically control ur supply and burn. check the lines to and from the fpr but your fpr should be skr8

Come on man. Solder those wires. Everything shakes and rattles on a car...you are going to tell me you are trusting the connections to tape?

i will get them soldered as soon as i can, just need to get my fuel issue and axle fixed first before buying a soldering gun/paying someone to do it. my connections on the o2 are solid though.

I head sometimes you have to rewire your ECU for the OBD1 P72 to pick up the O2 sensor correctly. Well that's if you had a single cam del sol.

You know I have a JDM D15B and I barely get 20 mpg.
I have figured out that its the transmission gearing.
But that still seems kinda low to me.
I have replaced all fuel related stuff, even cleaned the injectors.
Havent helped at all.

stop worrying about the o2 sensor cuz that prolly wasnt ur problem to begin with... check the **** i told u and report back.... and for the luv of god reset ur ecu

borrow a friends ecu and see if it still does the same problem...but i dont think its there

i figure the gearing is the cause for some mpg's lost, but i think this is a tad low, if its normal then i'll be ok, just this damn cel is starting to bother me.

i have been running on a stock p28 since friday afternoon. i did notice the hose coming off the tb and running to the evap canister wasnt attached to the canister. i connected it, reset the ecu, drove for about 10 minutes and it came back on, still only throwing the code 43. havent tried resetting the map sensor yet.

update: the cel comes on randomly now, but is still throwing the same code 43. it doesnt come on upon start up, and sometimes i can drive home->errand->school (about 30 miles) and it wont come on, then on my way home (~7-10 miles) it'll come on once the motor is warmed up. at night time i can literally see gas blowing out of the exhaust if theres another car behind me, but if i really get on it from a standstill it wont dump fuel at all, so now im really lost. i have double checked all the wires/hoses/connections attached to the motor and the only thing not connected is my IAT (obd2 IM, so no where to put it). anyhow im lost and would really like to get this figured out.

cliffs: intermittent failure, completely lost on a fix.

got a good regulator on it, still throwing the code intermittently, so my next step is a new ecu (which runs limp mode w/o chip). im dreading it being the fuel pump, but time will tell.

check the fuel return line for a pinch, also I haven't heard anything good about bosch 02 sensors spliced into hondas you may want to try one that is oem fit

NGK OE identical O2 sensor 24542 24542 Before Cat $59.85

did it have a plug on it or did you have to cut and splice the plug on to the new sensor?

if you splided it together check your wires again. if you are going to splice it you probably can find some place to solder it and heat shrink it, that may help with the code ?

the bosch was plug and play. with the o2 in the car throws only code 43 (fuel supply) and without only code 41 (o2).
