Ok i have searched and couldn't find much or nothing to answer my question.



Does a LS stock motor sound good with straight pipe ? (I'm not worried about cops giving me **** or inspection time, i ALREADY KNOW so please don't bring up that up) I'm on a budget so i'm trying to find best bang for my buck and i beleive i've heard one stock integra with straight pipe and it sounded okay but it was a camera phone FTL! Any links you guys got would be the **** or any opinions on exhaust (don't have to be name brand) just something that don't sound like a fart can on my stock exhaust.

I'm a noob on HT, lol i need to get more active .... HT has some really good information...you guys know know yalls ****.

Straight pipe FTMFL. If all you want to do is make noise, then get a straight-through muffler. There's absolutely no performance benefit to a straight pipe at all that you don't get with a high flow cat, unless you're turbocharged. On the debit side they are illegal, smelly, and irresponsible.

If you want a nice sounding exhaust but can't afford name brand, check out Yonaka's WS2 replica. IDK about Yonaka but the WS2 is a very sweet sounding exhaust -- not raspy or fart-can-like but louder than stock and it absolutely rips at high rpm.

Opinions - Dumbest thing I've ever heard. You want a straight pipe for sound. Good reason to kill the emissions, get tickets and have people make fun of you.

Advice, get a decent exhaust, leave the cat on. If you dont have the budget then dont do anything until you do. Maybe invest that time in trying to learn a skill or something that might provide value.

 

If you're on a budget, pick up a Buddy Club Spec2, they sound awesome

 

Whats the price? I just want something that don't sound stock but sounds NICE and don't have the autozone fartcan sound.

its not too bad, i was going to go strait pipe, side pipe. i also planned to go turbo though.

 

I had an Apexi WS2 on my GSR, im probably gonna catch some **** for this but i dont care... I cut the piping right before the muffler and welded a straight peace of piping over that and welded up a hangar and it sounds filthy. its nice and throaty and when Vtec hits it sounds like God farting. I am still running my cat because of the O2 sensors and not trying to get the feds on my ****. My friend has a LS DA and he cut the factory piping and it sounds like garbage. just go with 2.25 piping, you can probably find a cheap cat back in either the classifieds, craigslist, or ebay.
