***OFFICIAL 8G Intake Thread***
OK, had this idea a long time ago and kept putting it off.
Anyone who knows anything about any of the intakes offered for the 8th gen Civic (any trim line), please contribute.
The information will be naturally vetted by the forum and we'll eventually whittle it down to a reliable resource for anyone who is looking for information on upgrading their stock intake.
I want pros and cons for every decently popular option, general pricing, and owner experience/testimonials. This will probably be a sticky at the top of the forum, i.e. the flashpro thread. I might limit the size of it, because the flashpro thread is pretty long at this point. We might need to keep all the pertinent info on the first page to prevent the forum getting clogged up with specific inquiries from people who are not inclined to search through pages upon pages of one thread.
I don't know crap about this and I'm definitely looking to upgrade my own car...so I am eager to see what you guys have to say.

Ok. You can edit this and such since your a mod.
K&N SRI version 1.
Pros- Produced power, sounded great.
Cons- Fitment wasnt that great. Had to trim the actual pipe and i altered the pipe with a diferent filter. Heatsheild was crap
Price was $75.00 brandnew on ebay. Got a good deal.
Takeda SRI
Pros-Fitment was great. Produces power. Sounds great and is holding up well. I have around 6k miles at least.
Cons- As of right now I dont really have any problems with the intake to note.
Price was $170.
I posted pics before to have the K&N and the Takeda side by side.

Injen CAI
Pros- Very loud, actually rattles my interior at WOT.
Cons- Real PITA to put in. Since taking out the whole OEM air box one of the plastic OEM pipe took me well over 30 mins to take out. Also having to put in the CAI in from the bottom was hard. Well worth it at the end.
Price: $254 new
new setup: Password JDM power chamber intake. Not installed yet, saving funds for flashpro. FP wasn't needed until problems occured with the power chamber. Pics later.
Price: $450 (complete kit with battery relocator)

Old setup:
Fujita SRI
Price: $75 used
Pros:
Sounds amazing.
Very loud at WOT...if you like that.
Looked pretty good.
Good fitment
Definite power increase, when it ran right
Cons:
Loud at any throttle position
After about 8 months of having it, it started making my AFR go crazy and caused my ecu to throw a lot of codes.
Overall would not recommend this intake. I believe the lack of MAF vanes make the sensor read inconsistently.
Current setup:
DIY SRI (OEM intake tube with MAF sensor cut from OEM intake lid and K&N filter)

Price: Already had a second OEM intake box, so...free. Still have a mint OEM one.
Pros:
Sounds badass at wot
The perfect amount of loudness
Can just barely hear it "breathing" under normal throttle
Looks good, but almost stock
Still has MAF vanes
Power at definite safe AFR
Smoother power than the Fujita
Cons:
Not quite as loud as the Fujita (if you like loud)
Less "eye candy" in the engine bay
That's all of the negatives I have
Would definitely recommend for people to either buy one (x-intake or from other ppl that make them) or make their own, especially over Fujita.

My girlfriends 07 came with an AEM Cold Air intake, it looks really nice, sounds good, although to change the filter I will most likely have to drop the bumper, I will post pics soon. Might be taking it out or shortening it because she really doesn't understand that a deep puddle will F--- Her car over.

Modified OE intake
This is a project I was working on for a little while. It's all done, I just need to finish my retro this week so I can install both at once. I am currently running just the Oem intake box with the lower hose that connects to the lower part of the filter box. I was datalogging a few days ago and while driving i have gotten readings as low as 50* iat.
Will update with readings when i slap this bad boy on.
Pros:
Cheap
Sounds good, not too loud.
Better throtle response
Will not throw off a/f readings
Cons:
Cutting up your oe intake

Im looking for the most suitable air intake for my Si. I have two brands in my mind:Ingen and AEM. I wonder what is the best for my Si. Does anybody know what is a good header for my si. P.S. Im looking for polished header better off than ceremic one. Thx!
Is a polished header "better off" when compared to a ceramic one? I guess if you like it shiny. But for high temp control and durability then you are "better off" with the ceramic.
I'm not really sure what you are looking for.....Are you?
I thick that he is asking what a good intake for his car would be. And i would like to know as well as my plans stand right now passwordjdm powerchamber intake, megen axle back exhaust, and some type for programmer.
You sir need to research. The PWD JDM intake is dookie water and the megan axle back is as good as a HFP axle back. No power gains what so ever. Type for porgrammer? I would say that Hondata is the best but some use Cobb.
I have been working on it a bit i have the axle back from a friend. bit for the intack i have yet to find dnyon graph that is y i have not spent cash. if u have some to prove this i would love to see them as for the programmer i have sent a email to my hondata tuner. the cobb is better money but hondata is hondata.
what intact do u thick i should get for my 2010 civic si

First: search before posting, there are appropriate preexisting threads discussing your inquiries.
Second: it is spelled intake, not intack or intact.
Second: it is spelled intake, not intack or intact.
If your getting an intake and dont mind the hassle of instal on the CAI and it dosnt flood where you live get a Injen CAI. If your going SRI. I would get either the AEM or the Takeda. Injen bogs the car.
