Are b series auto and manual flywheels same?

Default Are b series auto and manual flywheels same?

Ok, I have a question for you guys. Is a flywheel from an automatic b18 gonna be the same as a flywheel off of a 5 speed b18?? Thanks, david

In automatics they are reffered to as a flexplate not a flywheel and are usually much thinner and light weight as well as lighter duty than a flywheel.

no, it is not the same, automatic is flexplate and manual is flywheel

Correct, auto's use a flex plate, which can not be used with a clutch. All 1990-2001 b series flywheels are the same with the exception of the Type R model which is a couple lbs lighter
