Default lets discuss RM cams

i had rocket motorsports (M22XX) cams for few years and had no problems with it. but i have some thoughts.
all their intake and exhaust's specs are the same except m24x. what's the theory behind that?
did they find out that it's good to have same cams on intake and exhaust or did they do it just to save money on manufacturing ?

As many experienced engine builders and tuners will tell you, specs are one thing but ramp angles are another. Most cam companies try to make cams that will make power in the widest range of engine configurations as possible. Some are more successful than others at this, like Skunk2, RM, Jun, Toda and others. The absolute best are the cams custom ground to your engine specs just like custom built headers.

ok i understand that custom cams will work the best for individuals but in general what's better?
cams that has 2 different profile vs 2 same profile on intake/exh
for example. the itr cams they have 2 different profiles.

There is no general answer. It is never as simle as X part is the best, or they would all be the same, right?

If you want to do it right, start testing different cams on your motor, otherwise you make the best choice given the data available. In this case, you have years of dyno charts and comparisons to sort through, find setups similar to yours, and make a decision.

I've tested 6 sets of cams on my car, including two sets that were 'custom grinds' for my application. In the end, Pro3's worked the best, so I kept them.

If you are that stuck on making a decision, buy some Skunk2 Pro series cams. You will be happy.

In general, they are different because the intake and exhaust valve events are different. The valves are different sizes, the ports are different sizes and shapes, etc. You are effectively moving the same volume of air on both sides, but the way it moves and the path it takes is very different. Because of this, cam designers understandably try to optimize the two events using very different methods.

However, the cam specs you are looking at only show total lift and duration, which is like describing a person based only on height and weight. The profiles may have completely different ramp angles. At the end of the day, if they work, they work.
