Icon3 The Rally Accord (db7) Build Thread! DIED TODAY!!!! pics

Well I am Andrew and I have decided to start a members journal, now that I have decided that my car will be for Rally x and not another ricer. I have many plans for the car that will be happening very soon. First I will show you a few pics of the car. Then list mods.

Okay as you can see it is the color of dirt... it is old, and pretty normal looking, but for the most part clean.

Mod list/to do list:
1. Create a light bar and mount 4 lights to, with out covering up the licence plate.
2.Paint wheels.. not sure what color.. might go with gold.. or black.. or some crazy color, who knows time will tell.
3. new struts, springs and a Lift spacer!
4.paint car, the title says red.. i tried changing that at the dmv... still says red.. Sooo ill paint it red! I am thinking a flat red, and a flat black hood and maybe trunk while removing the odd wing it has.
5. removing awful tint to 1. give better vision, and 2. make my car look like less of a crack ghetto car.
6.Welding exhaust all shut.. as in the leaks and muffler all secured.
7.Intake Snorkel! custom of course.
8. continue saving weight by removing various interior parts and other stuff.
9. Off road tires! thinking snow tires.. but i have found super swampers that will fit on the honda...

the list goes on.. and is not in order, just a starter. Hopefully by the time its near finished the first rally x event will be starting!

----------------------------------------------

well b4 work today i picked up some 1/8 inch thick angle steel and flat steel and some hard ware to start on the light bar!

this car has some really nice mount spots up front for it. I will be having 2 stripsdouble thick at 1/4" going from the radiator support to the angle steel. then i will use the licence plate bolts to have lower support.. will not shake, cause i am doubling up every thing to 1/4". I will be removing the grill to make things easier.. and with the added lights it will not restrict too much air.

I will be adding 4 hella 500's when i get around to it.. for sure 2 tomorrow when i work on it.. i will be getting up extra early to do so! Im still debating whether or not to have 2 amber lights and 2 white ones, or just all white. and because of the bumper being so little i will have all 4 in a row.. i wanted staggered but i dont think it would look good.

--------------------------------------------------------------

oh and Im already looking into what i need for the snorkel.. tomorrow i will also be re-installing the stock air box and marking out where the pvc elbow joint will come thru my fender

okayy! I have finished the install of my new light bar minus the lights.

Here is a pic of the front of my car, i removed the grill to make the install easier.

Here is a pic to show my engine bay and mounting points.

in this pic is a dry fit of the first part of the bar

here i am showing you where it is mounted to

here it is mocked up one more time with the hood closed

here it is all finished with the bottom license plate mounts attached.. it is very sturdy, it doesnt wobble at all and when i try to move it the whole car moves.

here is another angle

and the finished product!

Now me and my buddy are going to go light shopping! cant wait to see what it will look like with the 4 lights on it!

_____________________________________________

I got some lights! not wired up tho.. but that will probally be tonight or tomorrow! sorry for the crappy pics but its on my cell phone thats like 5 years old and the lighting was bad

__________________________________________________ ___

i wanted the light bar to be as sturdy as possible so i made it a 90 degree angle. putting the lights lower would make them stick out really far and on top of it my car has a low bumper so I placed them high so i dont ruin them accidently

ill make a better one once my buddy gets a welder..

new pic of it today

i have been getting thumbs up and honks alot now that my car has these on it!

well here is a few more pics of them on and my car dirty

dirty pic! haha went playing in the snow for a few hours

thanks, yeah its something you def dont see, and i like it! haha its what happens when you are broke and cant have a subaru, but love your honda

i will be lowering the lights when it stops snowing,, and replacing the middle ones with 8' off road lights due to lack of light. my stock headlights in the accord are brighter! ha

to ken9: well actually they are only 5inch, and in rally thats small.

eghatch420: thanks for the support, it will be awesome, there is a guy in Rally America named matt johnston and he has a full out rally integra! i saw it at the LSPR rally in 08.

yeah i have been working alot so the project is on hold till i get some free time! YAY lol

oh ****! ill be the first to say, that'll buff out.

on a serious note, do you really plan to rally it? if so super swampers are a bad idea, theyll probably be bias ply, even if theyre not theyre designed for conforming to rocks and stuff, not going fast.
