It depends on what your looking to get out of the car really. And with this subject everyone have there own opinions that goes on and on forever lol. I personally would go with a B18 or a K20 Swap(Then I would wake up and realize I dont have enough money for it lol). But I like balanced motors and those two are pretty balanced between horse power and torque.

And you can boost em until they blow

If you're swapping between series, you need to swap the tranny.

For example, if you're swapping to a B-series engine, you need a B-series tranny. If you're swapping to a K, you need a K tranny, H you (generally) need an H tranny.

What's the best engine depends on your budget and goals. I generally think that the B18C1 GSR engine gives you the best bang for the buck. If you're going turbo though, I would say LS... unless you've got a big budget and want to build a monster. Then I'd say GSR or H22 turbo.

Depends what you want to do. you can build a motor with 3-4 thousand or if you just want to buy a swap and drop it right in you could get a GSR

b16 and b18 are close to those numbers, little over or a little under, b16 trannys gots the gears u want for quickness out of the shoot, LS trannies have the gears for the commuter car.

IMO any civic with a decent swap stock or not can take on a teggy that have a few mods. keyword few lol. Because you already have a big weight advantage over the teggy they weigh more than civics which makes alot of different in a race. But seriously if you have 3-4g's to spend just like that I would say invest it good. Get a B18C/B20Vtec/ or K20 swap. Thats what I would do.
