Default installing cams. Please help!

My question is; Is it necessary to measure valve to valve clearances when installing cams?

I currently have an H23 block w H22 head running in my car with stock cams but want to up grade to skunk2 stage2 cams.

If I do have to, is it possible to do it with out removing the head?
Also what degree should I place the cams after installing?

Thanks in advance

Only if they are fairly large or you anticipate using cam gears to move them around a lot. You should call the Skunk2 tech people and ask them, but with stage 2 cams, I don't think that should be a significant issue.
