FRESH OIL IN INTAKE MANIFOLD?
Sup guys I got a 1998 ek with a jdm b16a Motor and I decided to change my stock intake manifold and put a skunk2 pro series manifold that I bought brand new. And when I took out the stock intake manifold I noticed that there were alot of fresh oil in the ports and valves. Doe anyone know the problem. Is the valve seals bad and need to be changed. Need help asap so I can fix the problem.
well its normal to find some residue and buildup in the intake runners but you shouldn't be seeing oil just chillin in there. if the engine doesn't burn oil, then it's probably nothing to worry about, just normal buildup over time. if it does however burn oil then it's possible that your valve seals are causing it. if you look at the valve stems they will also be wet with oil if the seals are leaking.

Btw I was wondering since I'm burning oil and oil is all over in the head how much horsepower am I losing due to this problem. Because my motor feel pretty good but since I'm buring oil I'm loseing power Somehow right.
