how to switch off check engine light?????
My son and I replaced the timing belt on a friend's 05 Civic (major pain in the a$$, I might add - much more so than my son's 95 Civic). We started the car before puting everything back together (just to make sure all was as it should be). I did not realize until after the first start up that the TDC sensor was not re-plugged in. Now the engine light is on - I assume it is because of the sensor. How do I turn the light off? Does it need to be hooked up to a scanner or is there a jump location or cheat code...?...
d/c the battery wont work i dont think
What will work is pulling the #6 (ECU) fuse in the box under the hood (left side, on back of the battery)
That resets the ECU and clears the code, if theres actually a problem the light will come back on eventually.

your best bet is go to an auto parts and have them check y the check engine light is one and if it is that sensor then theyll go ahead and delete it for you it is free
pulling that fuse has the exact same effect as disconnecting the battery the reason people pull the fuse instead is so you don't loose your radio stations
