Belt Squeal
one of my belts squeal when i start the car and every once in a while when the rpms fall when i shift in neutral when i am coasting or sitting at a light its a high pitched squeal i dont know what it could be i dont have power steering i have a/c though
ac belt, alternator belt. most likly alternator belt. its one 12mm to lossen it, and if u can get a pipe in there hit it with a hammer lightly to tighten, then tighten the bolt back up.
It's the alternator belt. I have EXACTLY the same problems at EXACTLY the same times you mentioned, I just haven't got around to fixing it yet... Tighten it up. That's what I'm going to do the next warm-ish day I get... I hate winter...
kk thanks yeah i just did a motor swap on it for a newer d16y7 so i guess i didnt tighten it up well enough is there any tips on how tight it should be could it be too tight and make that sound
yea well if its a new belt they usally have to work themselfs in, anwyas to answer your question ive heard of 1/2, 3/4 of an inch when you push on the belt is good.
