Default B17 swap

OK I broke my d16z6 block in my 95 civic, I'm think if I should put a d15 block in or if I should go for a b17 swap since my friend has one he can sell my cheap. The problem is I don't know how much the parts will be for the swap.

I will be doing all the work so if someone could lead me in the right direction or tell me what I need and how much it cost I will me thankfull to you.

Default Re: B17 swap

Put in another D series block.

To swap in the B17 you will have to source a hydrolic transmission separatly as the b17 came with a cable tranny.

tranny anywhere from $ 300-$500 for a LS one in good condition
axles , chipped ecu, etc --> $ 500-600

So all in all even if you get the motor for cheap ( say $ 300 ) it will still cost you ATLEAST $ 1000 to get it in there.

While another D series block will be $ 100-$200

But if you wanted to go B series and dont mind the extra budget then now is a great time I suppose.
