Default 98 accord f20b ecu question

Ok guys. Im trying to find some answers for a friend. He has the jdm f20b swap in his 98 accord. Its currently jumped to obd1. The problem is it needs to pass obd2 plug in emissions. How is everyone getting around this using obd1 ecu's? I have read guys running obd2 h22 ecu but the check engine light will come on with that ecu therefore not passing obd2 emissions tests. Any help would be awesome ! Thanks guys

Matt

but you'll still have no DLC conection. JDM/EDM ECU's dont use it. You'll need a OBD2 USDM ecu for your DLC to work.

i thought there was a reason why he didnt use a jdm one. other than they are hard to find. what ecu is used? like i said i think ppl use the h22 ecu but he said he thought it would still throw a cel there for failing emissions. i find it hard to believe everyone running this setup is jsut flat out running with no type of state inspection. here in PA you cannot get emissions w/o insp or vise versa.and its virtually impossible to lick and stick a plug in obd2 emissions test. hmmm anyone got any advice? i said put the oe engine back in and be done.

-can the h22 ecu be used? and if so is there a way to eliminate the cel or sensor that is different than the f20b causing the cel? whether it be a company that chips it or whatever.

thanks for the feedback so far...
