Default Exposed Flywheel....

OK, So I was under the car the other day... Still trying to work out all of the issues with my new civic, and noticed that you can see the flywheel. Its like a cover is missing that potentially the exhaust could bolt to as well

Should I be able to see the flywheel, or has this cover come up missing at some point in time..

Thoughts? I will try to snap a picture this evening and post it.

Does the exhaust bolt to it somewhere? It looks like the exhaust has a bracket for a bolt, not sure where to bolt it though

car will move without it....define important.
use common sense here. what does a flywheel do? right, it mates with your clutch disk when you release the clutch pedal. so, if something gets on there, like water, your clutch could slip for a few seconds, not the end of the world. grease on there is a different story. I would say break it down and clean the flywheel and clutch plate when you get a cover on there.

I haven't had one for years. No problems. Of course I don't drive through every bit of standing water I see either.

HAHAHA! The only thing that I have ever heard of falling into the timing gears and crank gear was a shop towel.

It was the fault of the tech at hand. And all that happend was the engine died.
some of you are comics.

here you go skipbudlong since you like superstition this cat will come at night and drain your Vtec fluid while you sleep.

I find it hard to believe how many people are hating on the design of Honda, and a cheap safe dust cover that's only $10
So, i guess all the posters who think the cover is a waste of time, think Honda wasted their time for such a part.
