ever since i installed some megan coilovers on my civic my shocks keep on blowing. the shocks wont even last a few weeks. anyone else have this problem with megan coilovers

 

These are not as popular but im sure it does happen. These are cheap coilovers without the cheaper price. Similar coilovers as these sell for 500-600 and megan charges 700-800 if I recall. My advice is fix them if you can under warranty and sell them. Either that or dont lower the car with the spring perch which takes away all the shock travel, and use the lower mount. Keep some preload in the springs and it wont bottom out as much resulting in a blown damper. There are much better set-ups out there for the price.

 

I performed some R&D for Megan for a different application...the damper sleeve are prone to leaking especially if matched to the wrong spring rate or length...a big, and very curious problem in the other application.

The kit I tested also had bumpstops that were incorrect for the car...and the rear upper perch cracked on several kits before I began some track work with them; my applicationrequired a very important tiny component that allowed the damper's shaft to move at different angles as the suspension moved thru its stroke. This component was not part of the original design and many upper perches cracked as a result...I am surprised that I did not hear about damper pistons failing.

The basic design philosophy is sound - lowering is possible without affect damper travel. But their execution is terrible!
