high pitched whining coming from my motor....need help!!!!!!!!!
i noticed a high pitched noise coming from my motor....its been slowly getting louder over time but today i noticed that it was really loud......i checked my timing belt and its still good....dont know what it might be...its a dohc zc.....please help!!!!!!!
take the cap off your distributor.
If you see a red powder in it, it is time to replace your distributor.
Take the distributor off and twist it with your hand it should twist easy.
If it is hard to twist the bearing is bad and thats whats making the noise.
If you dont replace it ASAP your risking your timing belt to jump a tooth.

I would start by inspecting the belts. TIMING FIRST! DIST 2nd.
Troubleshooting is the first step. and its EASY!
take a tube of sorts (paper towel tube is fine) it to ur ear and point it around ur engine. BE CAREFUL. it should get louder when u point the tube at one of the pulleys. remove belt, if the noise goes away then check the bearing in the pulley, make sure its not seizing. if it is then replace it. otherwise replace the belt, tighten to spec. if that doesn't do it try another belt
