Yesterday my head gasket blew. I just learned the day before it was going out, but it wasnt horrible, but the next day it blew. So today me and my buddies put a new head gasket on. Car started the first go. Then didnt start. We would tinker around for a while and it would start, but then it wouldnt the next try.
Codes, 6 and 16. Six is coolant temp sensor. 16 is fuel injector. Ive read that the coolant temp sensor may cause this code as well, especially when the car isnt starting. But Ive also read that unplugging the sensor would get the car going, but would be in limp mode.
The timing is on, ignition timing is close enough, everything is plugged in (triple checked) vacuum is all on (checked). Its getting fuel and spark.
Im just running out of ideas. Too late to hit up a parts store to get a new coolant temp sensor. You guys feel I should just check on getting a new sensor? Or what?

Usually will be the wiring..
Check the two wires just by the connection at the head..
{Wire color should be red/white and green/white}
When this condition exists,
Just trying to start it will dump in excessive amounts
of fuel and flood the cylinders..
Correct the wiring and then you may have to dry out the spark plugs..
