Holes where seats should bolt in

so I have a few holes in my car that look like this

i was told by a body shop guy that he wouldnt touch it because it has to do with safety and yada yada. what should i do?

weld a nut to a square piece of sheet metal, then tack weld the square with the nut inside that big hole and you'll be good...
