Ok i have wasted the last 3 hours of my day searching on what all that needs to be done to put a 04 acura tsx motor into a 02 acura rsx type s ..............

all i seem to come up with is a bunch of people just guessing on this works this doesnt work !!!!!! or the k24a2 into the base model

from what im reading i can use my stock harness and mounts except i will need to use a crv bracket not mount ???? or some people say the crv mount some say the bracket ????

will the tsx intake manifold fit into the rsx ????? some people are saying that it will some people say it wont some people say u have to cut your radiator support ????

what will require to use the stock rsx type s intake manifold ??????

any other pointers would be appreciated sorry i am a noob to k series and rsx's but i have been searching and really dont have the time to search anymore and need to get this car running ASAP

PLEASE DONT LET THIS THREAD TURN INTO AN OPPION THREAD im not putting the k20a2 head on the tsx block i am just wanting to run the tsx motor in the rsx

I have the k24a2 in an 05 Type-S

it was simple and easy.

You do need the CR-V bracket yes.
The TSX manifold will fit in the rsx. You'll make more power with it. I wouldn't convert but if you want a different manifold buy an unmodified RBC intake manifold.

 

Are you missing anything/power loss with a lower rpm redline?...Just curious

 

what does RPM have to do with power? It's all on how the engine is built and what it is built for.

I make 230lb of torque by 2300rpm.... 2300! Thats more than some have HP and so instantly. I may only rev to 7600 but I make torque all the way across the board and make 315whp at 7600.



High RPM doesn't always mean more power...

 

So all I need is a crv bracket then and the tsx motor will go right in plug and play ? Don't need to modify anything else ?

 

you have to swap some sensors also. But other than that it's pretty much the same engine. You'll have to make a custom intake. And if you keep the k24 manifold you'll need the karcepts adapter for your throttle body

 

Do u know off hand what sensors I will need to switch ??? And the tsx intake manifold will work but I need to use the rsx throttle body ...... Will the radiator support need to be notched or will ot be a direct fit ?

 

Also can I keep my power steering and air condtioning with using the tsx swap ???? Also I read somewhere that u need to use the rsx water neck ???? Please help with as much infromation as u can !!!!!! need to get this car running soon as I pick up the motor !!!!!!! Any and all help is appreciated !!!!!

 

Alright here we go....

1) I only swapped cam position sensors.. they say to swap the knock sensor but the k20 knock sensor did not read on my k20, so I solder on a k24 knock sensor plug onto my k20 wiring harness and run the k24 knock sensor.

2) I didn't notch the radiator support but I've seen some say the same thing about notching so not sure...

3) I used all the components off of my k20 for the k24. So water pump, housing, thermostat, ac, ps, blablabla
3a) For the water neck you need to use the k20 water bypass tube but k20 thermostat housing.

 

what crv bracket do i need also ?????

got the tsx eng k24a2...im new to this also...i have a type s 02 rsx...is the waterneck the tube coming from the thermastat housing? or just keep tsx one on?does the whole thing have to be replaced to type s.....i put types one on wont fit rite...im keeping stock tsx manifold...just ordered karcepts adapter for throttle body...i have no clue wat goes where withe the hoses....i appreciate all the help i can get...if possible show pic to see how it looks....thanx

wat u have to change on engine to make things work....i know the mount has to be changed....

 

i changed the water neck and thermastat housing....got that all figured out...now on the front engine mount the type s mount wont bolt to the tsx engine....so do u use a tsx mount ? thanks i really appreciate all the help i can get....

 

You have to get the CR-V/Element braket mount to maye up one of the motor mounts.

 

The stock front mount should work. In fact, all the stock mounts work. Like Type S paz already stated, you only need the CRV passenger bracket.

(I have a K24A2 in my EP3 in case the OP thinks I'm guessing)

 

Type-'S'paz or anyone else can you bolt the Type-S oil pan onto the K24A2 without doing anything to the oil pick up?

 

no the baffles are different. No need to swap them unless you are building the block and head for high reving purposes
