Default Rear brake pad replacement

Hey guys,
Just replaced my rear brake pads and noticed a few unusual things, wondered if these were common place or if you could provide comment on them:

1. There were no shims on the pads despite my Haynes manual saying there was.
2. The inner pads were worn much much (much) worse than the outers.
3. The handbrake doesnt seem to take up as well now (ie needs more "clicks") (I would've thought it would've been better if anything at all - since pads are no thicker)

Thanks
Mike

As far I know the pads that came off were OEM (they were Nissin I think). The ones I put on were Bendix ... AUS$60 vs AUS$120 for OEMs!!

Whoever changed your pads last time must have neglected to install the shims. They don't really do much of anything anyway.

Don't know why your inner pads wore worse than the outer pads.

Have you tightened the EB cable?
