It doesn't look hard to open a tranny up, and syncros are like 100-150 I want to say. Buying a used tranny, you never really know for sure if it's ok.

your last statement is why i think i wanna stay away from buying used trans. never know what im gonna get.
im sure everyone will say trans is good, no grinds, no pop outs, no issues.
but how do you know?
kid in pa had a gsr trans for 450...never know if its good or not.
dont wanna do this job twice.
didnt want to buy car and need to dump money into trans but seems like thats what im gonna have to do.

Nope. You're still going to need sleeve sets/sliders and mostly likely 2nd and 4th gear.

23431-P80-V00 GEAR, COUNTERSHAFT SECOND 1998 INTEGRA 110.90
23521-P21-315 SLEEVE SET, SYNCHRONIZER (1-2) 1998 INTEGRA 411.47
23451-P80-V00 GEAR, MAINSHAFT FOURTH 1998 INTEGRA 115.42

Assuming it really isn't the linkage that the problem (which I still suspect it may be) you will most likely need the above plus the 4th gear sleeve set which I can't seem to find a listing on.

think its worth trying to replace slave?
all day today when i go to car and try for gears, only 135
need this car fixed not sitting in driveway.
dont think i will take chance of buying a used trans, again for fear of unseen problems

if i should try to do slave, what do i need to do to do job the right way??
im not much of a mechanic but if theres a chance that can help maybe ill attempt it.

just went out and tried for gears, only tops
looked under car and think i see a spot where there may be a leak. kinda in the middle of car, behind motor. that area of car.

trans seal was done. so i figured i shouldnt have leaks under there??
