Default My Steering wheels are not straight?...

I just replaced my front two tires and now when I steer straight on the road, my steering wheels are not straight, it is turned a little to the left....

Before I changed my tires, they were okay, not perfect but acceptable.... but now it is worse.

I know my car needs a alignment because my front two tires have camber wear on the tires... but was wondering if a alignment will fix my steering wheels problem? it is OE btw.

Thanks!

Threads like this always suck because it can be multiple things.

Get an alignment, go from there.

Thanks, I guess I'll get a alignment next weekend, but at the meantime, anyone else have any other ideas of what could be wrong?

could also be a bad axle.

I do not see how a FWD CV axle could have any bearing on whether the steering wheel points straight or not.

It solved the problem for another guy in another thread.
Not trying to start **** or anything, but IT REALLY WORKED.
One side was bad so the car was constantly pushing the side where the axle was good. At least, that's how I thought it did.

In a nutshell, the other guy's issue was steering issues like the OP's, he changed his axle, fixed.

yes an alignment will fix your steering issues... what else would?

always get an alignment when you get new tires.

ppl talk so much crap about "not cheaping out when it comes to suspension". how about ppl not cheaping out when it comes to alignment and the care of your tires?

it shouldn't be a bad axle cuz i just had it serviced, and if the axle were bad, they would ask me to if I want to change it.

and my car has low mileage, but I will have someone check em before I get a alignment.

Axle doesn't have to be leaking to be bad.

try cross rotating the two front tires and see if it's changes. just because the tires are "new" doesn't mean they are good.

also check to make sure tire pressures are even..

Dude, just go to the freakin' alignment shop and let them take a look. They will tell you if you have worn parts that need replacing. And if you don't, then just getting an alignment should fix your problem. Otherwise, you could just start throwing money at it and not come close to fixing the problem.

So I'm looking at my steering wheels, and I realized that my steering wheel is turned to the left to be aligned with my steering column cover, which happens to be crooked too....

Is it possible to somehow adjust the whole column or something else to make then align properly?
I'm not trying to cheap out on the alignment, I'm still going to get one, but then the steering wheel column cover brothers me like that.... the cover has been like that ever since I had the car.... but the steering wheels was just after I changed my tires.

The cover is not install wrong or anything, I've taken it off a few time working on the car so a incorrect installation of the cover can't be it.

Any ideas?

Here are the pics.

Why don't you just get an alignment already?

If you never adjusted the column prior to this, don't.

FYI: almost anytime when wheels are taken off, and suspension parts are replace, taken apart, whatever, a aligment is almost always needed. Also When you get an alignemt, just let them know your stering wheel is not straight, and they will fix it, most of the time at no charge, since its kinda part of the sligment, but if you don't say anything they may not notice.

Has the steering column ever been unbolted from the dash frame before? There are 4 bolts under there holding it in place, might want to check it out. Make sure they're all tight.
