Default lower controll arm bushing...new member info needed

Hello everyone,

I have an 88 integra 4dr. after some problems that became apparent through driving i inspected the front the lower controll arm and as suspected the bushings are shot.

a few things come to mind that some of you "experts" might know about better than me.

important to know..The shocks and struts are relatively new. There is an occasional clunking in the front end over large bumps or rough roads. The car also doesnt track right (the LCA bushing will fix that)

1st. Are there any other bushings i should also change while i'm down there.

2nd. i'm trying to keep the price of repairs down.

3rd. I'm doing the repairs myself

4th. It is prob a good idea to do the upper controll arm bushings too by the front end Clunking over large bumps, and maybe sway bar bushings too.

Is there a how to on this forum board for a g1 teggy controll arm bushing repair?

I would like to better inspect the UCA bushing. how can i do this properly on this car?

What are the parts i will need. I have done some research and dont think the front controll arm bushing can be pressed out.

What tools will I need?

I def need to do the LCA bushing so help me out!

thanks

Alex

Buy an energy suspension polyurathane bushing kit set...take out the control arms...get the bushings and sleeves pushed in at a shop...and reinstall. Do some research.

You might look into just replacing the factory lower control arms with aftermarket. There are great deals in the Hondamarketplace under the sponsors sections.

Also try searching (link on the top header) I'm unsure about a write-up for this, but also i would recommend you get your year/vehicle service repair manual.

ok.

i did some more research and found the skunk 2 front lower control arms but can't find them for a 88 integra model.

dont really need a camber kit because i'm still at stock ride height. just want to tighten up my problem bushing areas.

need a link for LCA that will work for sure.

i will post a pic of my 88 jdm zc swapped just so you can see what we are working with.

The engine only has about 60K miles on it now and the valve cover gasket is starting to leak abit now. especially at the corners.

thanks guys

anyone have a link for ones that will WORK in my 88 4 door model?

I recommend rubber instead of poly. Less maintainance, better durability, lower noise, etc. You can order OEM bushings individually. You can check out Hardrace, too, but IDK if they make bushings for gen1.

ok...so heres the official deal.

g1 teggy.

oem LCA bushing comes prepressed. period. so im in for a entire control arm.

next important question...do i need to go with a stock LCA or is there aftermarket for my g1?

no body seems to remember working on these things...damnit

maybe a g1 expert will pop up out of the mix.
