Icon6 So my Integra won't start....

I just replaced the distributor cap & rotor and now it won't start. It doesn't try to crank. I turn the key and the gauge lights go on but nothing else.

I took out the distributor to remove the rotor (screw was stripped to death) so I'm not sure if I damaged the distributor in the process.

However, if the distributor was damaged, shouldn't the car still at least crank?

I accidentally left the negative battery terminal off so I'm thinking I drained the battery. But all of the lights (headlights, moonroof, gauge lights) seem fine. It doesn't appear to be dying.

So yeah, I'm stumped.

Car is a 1990 Integra LS

it could be that your not getting power to the starter.

Fuses near the clutch are the kick panel, right? I checked those.

What fuses do i look at under the hood?

btw was the car running fine before you messed with the distributor? you may just have a bad starter.

Yeah, it was fine. Like I said, I took off the negative terminal for about a day and a half so I'm not sure if that maybe the issue. I'll check the fuses under the hood in the morning. I'll try to give it a jump as well.

I'm stumped. I don't see how the starter can just go out like that just by changing the dizzy. But again, I'm no car expert.

its kinda weird that youre starter would go out simultaneously. whats it doing when you try and crank... is it making one click noise, no click noise, series of clicks...

... first try jumping it. it honestly could be something silly like a dead battery

No clicking. The lights go on and that's it. Not a single crank or attempt.

It's not the battery. Someone told me the battery shouldn't die with the negative terminal out.

I got it. I accidentally unplugged a wire on the starter yesterday. I never noticed it because it was dark. Last question:

When I plug the wires to the cap, is it like a 94+?

Try it and if it doesn't run, or runs rough, then they aren't the same.
