Default tachometers

I'm in need of a new tach and need some suggestions. I just need a simple tach that reads higher than 8500 rpm or a shift light because the stock tach only reads up to 8000rpm. I don't know much about these things, but are there any differences between the cheap chinese ones and more expensive units? Will the cheap units give inaccurate readings? Are digital tachs any less accurate than traditional needle ones?

Has anyone had any experience with programmable shift lights like these?

Or these types?

Any suggestions? Thanks
