Split Rear Seat
I had a 2000 LX Sedan with a 60/40 split rear seat. I appreciated it very much as I used to carry tires, snowboards, electronics among other things with the extra cargo room.
I read somewhere on the internet that the latest generation EX Sedans are the only ones with this feature. This true?
I don't know anyone with an LX or EX.

Hey Thanks on the quick reply, Vladd.
Unfortunately, that's the reason I am staying away from the HX. Everything else on it I love.
I checked http://automobiles.honda.com/civic-s...fications.aspx and the 2010 DX/DX-VP and LXs do not have 60/40 split rear seats.
I can not say much about the 2006-2009 models, but I think they are the same. Seems like Honda Motor Corporation wanted to make it more of a premium item.

the hybrid has a good reason for the seat not coming down; the battery pack apparently gets in the way. for the lower trims not having the split, i think the seat still comes down but just doesn't have the 40/60 split. the split is pretty convenient, as it allows me to have 2 people in the back along with everybody's snowboarding/skiing equipment when hitting the slopes.
It was too good to be true when I had it on my old 2000. I tell you what's even stranger. The 2001 & 2003 Accord EXs that my boy owned did not even have splitting rear seats!

Some of the newer cars just don't have obvious latches.
It's much harder to fold the seats down in my Si than it was in my first Civic (98 HX) and 01 ITR.
My wife's Accord is the same way, you have to get into the trunk and pull the levers.

If you had a full tilting non split rear seat, would you consider having someone cut it? An upholsterer? I wonder what the rate would be for a factory-like 60/40 split.
