THIS IS NOT AN UPGRADE!! (its a ghetto rig LOL)

I KNOW its a really retarded setup but I've got a busted wheel bearing that keeps going out due to a bad knuckle or hub... the new knuckle and hub and bearing from hondapartsnow.com for the one side is gonna run me $350.00.

I've got my hands on an (EG)EX/Si knuckle (with the bearing and hub installed, looks really good quality) for the problem side... and can get another assembly (hub, bearing, knuckle) for the opposite side (hopefully) for cheaper than replacing the hub or the knuckle on the bad side. (40 bucks!!)

I know the EX/Si spindle itself fits on the car, I know everything bolts up, and I KNOW Im gonna need bigger rotors to make it work...

But before I buy a EX rotor, I'm questioning, will a DX caliper fit on the EX knuckle and work with the EX rotor?

PS, before I get flamed for being uber-ghetto I plan on utilizing the EX knuckles for a Frankenstein upgrade (nsx, vigor, gsr etc) eventually... thats why I held on to the EX spindle... just unemployed at the moment... werd

 

* not sure what you meant when you stated "EG EX/Si knuckle." i just wanted to clarify: fyi, the eg ex knuckle & eg si knuckles are 2 different set-ups.

88-00 NON-ex knuckles are different from EX knuckles. anything which is NON-ex, uses a smaller caliper & 9.5" rotor. EX and NON-ex rotors, calipers & pads won't swap back & forth due to fitment issues.

your 92-95 civic eg EX knuckle will interchange with parts from any 90-01 integra, 90-00 civic ex, 99-00 civic si, & del sol vtec b16 (part #s are different, but they all share the same sized brake pads & 10.3" front rotors).

the DX caliper will not fit on the EX knuckle.

your best solution for your EX knuckle dilemma is to source the appropriate caliper; quick fix would be to look for front calipers from any 90-93 or 94-00 integra since they're common & easy to find in the yards.

 

well in the auction I bought the part from they describe the spare knuckle as being for an EX/Si, specifically they state that it came off an 95 EX, non ABS.

also I think you are right, my cheapest solution (beyond my hypothetical DX/EX Frankenstein solution) is to find a parts yard and appropriate some calipers.

which brings a further question... how do I quickly identify a GSR in a parts yard?

 

gsr calipers aren't any better than ls, rs or gs calipers. all 90-93 da & 94-01 dc integra (excluding the integra type-r) uses the front same caliper (regardless if it is a ls, gs, rs or gsr), and are stamped 1 7 c l 1 4 v n. da calipers & dc calipers are not the same, the share the same size pads & 10.3" front rotors...the major difference being that the 90-93 integra da has an overhead pad spring. both gen teg front calipers will work on your EX knuckle w/ teg or ex front rotors.

I just purchased front knuckles and rear trailing arms from a 94 RS $100 totall!!!! I have a 97 EX coupe Non abs. Will the ebrake cables work just fine or do i need to get the 99-00 SI ebrake cables? also the front calipers are they the same? What SS brake lines should i be purchasing? And also Last question. I have a 98+ spec ITR 1inch Brake Booster/MC laying around. Do i need to swap this for my stock 15/16 which is the same as the Si, I know i need the 99-00 Prop valve. PLEASE HELP GUYS!!!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE
